The Meaning Behind Our Name
St. Peter is the patron Saint of Quo Vadis as the term Quo Vadis comes from a story of an encounter between St. Peter and Jesus.
As St Peter was fleeing persecution in Rome, the risen Christ appears to Peter on the road. Peter asks Jesus, "Quo Vadis?" which is Latin for, "Where are you going?" Jesus responded saying, "I'm going back to Rome to be crucified again." And he walked past Peter. At that moment, Peter had to ask himself, "Where am I going? Am I going to run away from my mission or will I turnaround and go back into Rome to fight, sacrifice & suffer? To die to himself and build up the church. Ultimately, Peter turned around and went back to Rome where he died a martyr, and he established the Catholic Church before being crucified upside down; because he said he wasn't worthy to die like Jesus.
The mission of the group is to discern where one is called spiritually, wether to the religious life or marriage and where one is going towards or away from the Lord, according to their lifestyle on earth.
